October: The Best Month of the Year

Yesterday was my 45th Birthday; I ate at Crave for lunch and Osaka for Dinner.  Man, was I full.  Thanks to all that participated and thanks for all the birthday wishes on Facebook.

October’s been a fun month.  Will and I went up north on Oct. 8-10 deer hunting; saw a few deer – but none large enough to shoot.  Will rode the Sportsman 90 ATV around with me and did a great job controlling the vehicle and following directions – he is really getting good at it.   We also took a shotgun with us on our wheeler-rides and shot a grouse.  We had a chance at a second one, but I was trying to get Will in position to shoot it – that took too long and he got away.

Will also got his Nintendo Wii last weekend.  He had been saving up for it for 9 months; allowance, tooth fairy, birthday money, bonus chores, etc.   Mario Party Galaxy 2 is his first game – when prorated, it’s a very low cost babysitter. (Not that we let him play it all day)

Speaking of Babysitters, we got our first nanny.  She typically works 7:00am to noon three days a week.  It’s really helping.  I didn’t want to start the nanny position until Christine went back to work later in November.   But it was a necessity. The babies are doing well and getting bigger all the time.  John is now about 11 lbs. and Katie about 9 lbs.  Yes, he’s now 2 lbs. bigger than her.  He has nicknames like “butterball”, “chunk”, “brick”, but we usually call him “Johnny Angel”.   Of course Katie goes by “The Peanut”.

November brings more deer hunting, Christine returning to work, Will playing basketball, and those babies sleeping longer than 2.5 hours, right?!
